    David,

I have not been ignoring you on purpose but my wife recently had hip replacement surgery and between my wifly duties and everything else I just haven't had much time. I don't know how this Ron Head received his information but I have only shared the Inge family bible with one other person so it must have been passed along from there. I'm certain Doris Steiner is  most likely dead by now. She lived in California and she copied the Bible which was in the hands of a relative in PA. She would not share the relatives name or contact information with me citing that the relative did not want to be bothered. I would love to have a photocopy of the original Bible myself. All I have is a photocopy of Doris Steiner's notes that she copied from the Bible. I will send you copies as an attachment when I can.

Way back when, I worked with a Luther Inge and we did quite a bit of work on the Inge family. You will find that the descendants of that Vincent Inge intermarried quite often, as much as nine times. We did trace the family back to a Vincent Inge b. c. 1678. I think I've traced all of the Vincent Inge family to at least the early to mid 1800s.

Perhaps while you're waiting on me you could send me your line back to about that time.

  David,

I began working on my genealogy in 1971 when I was 31 years old.  One piece of advice I will give you is DO NOT trust what is published on  the web sites unless it can be backed up by research. All kinds of  wishes are published there and also passed on. Since you live in  Lunenburg Co. you should be able to find quite a bit in the courthouse  there. When I lived in Illinois I spent many a day in that old  courthouse. It would be nice if they installed air conditioning. I am  sending you two sets of attachments. One is a photocopy of Doris  Steiners notes she took from the Bible. The other includes an exact  transcript of those notes as well as some other documentation. The note  photocopies have faded somewhat over the years. I keep files on everyone  whom I have ever corresponded with concerning genealogy since I started.

I am reasonably sure that this Vincent Inge was the son of a Vincent

Inge and possibly Sarah Burras. I've seen a lot on earlier Inges in Eastern VA but have no documentation to link them.

Yes, I have seen that the Inges and Skinners married each other on

several occasions.

I recently retired and have devoted more time to the ancestor search,

an interest I've had since childhood.

I moved back to the farm where I grew up, in Lunenburg County VA, just

a few miles from the first land that Vincent Inge bought in Lunenburg,

copy of deed info below

Lun. Co. Deed Book 15 1787-1790

bounded by the lines of Henry Gee, Wm. Ambross, Joseph Hicks, decd. &

Saml. Skinner

Is, Was, this Doris Stiener, a relative, does she have descendants?

Any kind of old contact information.

Surely the Bible still exist, and good to know that it was in PA.

Thanks, for your help.
